Cat Staff

You've heard the saying that dogs have owners and cats have staff? It's true.

Despite being such clean creatures, they can be really messy. This position revolves around keeping Catmandu clean and comfortable, and the cats healthy and happy. It's not a glamorous job, but it is absolutely critical.

The daily routine involves scooping and cleaning litter boxes, sweeping, mopping, cleaning and filling food and water dishes, as well as daily and thorough cleaning of all areas throughout Catmandu including cat trees, bedding, etc.

While not super strenuous, the job is definitely physical. You must be in good physical condition and able to walk a alot, squat, bend and kneel repeatedly, lift up to 30 pounds, stoop, reach, and work on your feet throughout the shift.  You must be able to work with minimal supervision, willing to briefly work outside if needed, be flexible, deal with frequent interruptions, and be willing to deal with all the substances that can come out of a cat.

You must be a team player, pleasant to other staff members and a variety of volunteers. Since we are a very small staff, it is critically important to be dependable and show up for work every day on time and able to work.

Needless to say, familiarity with cats, respect and a genuine affection for them is required. You must be comfortable working around cats that range from super-affectionate to semi-feral.

As a member of the Catmandu family, you will be working with some of the nicest people in the world and know that your efforts make a huge difference in the lives of homeless cats. In addition, you get to work around cats all the time (bonus!!)

There are 2 positions available. The hourly rate for both positions is $13.25 per hour, paid weekly.

Weekday position -  Monday through Friday from 9 am to 1 pm.

Weekend position - Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 1 pm.

If you are interested in applying, please complete an application and send an email telling a little about yourself and why you are interested in the position to momcat@catmanducc.org
