Every year, hundreds of scared and confused cats and kittens pass through the doors of Catmandu. In 2017, more than 500 felines have been helped by Catmandu. While all their stories are different, the one thing they have in common is that they need help and have nowhere else to go. Most require medical care, vaccinations, and/or spay/neuter. All of them need food, warmth, shelter, and a safe place with loving people to care for them.
Providing for them is not cheap. The average cost to care for a cat or kitten is $60 per month. While that may not seem like a lot, when you have over 100 felines it adds up QUICK.
Catmandu receives no government funding. We rely on donations and community support to make ends meet. Given the unpredictable nature of donations, it is extremely hard to make a budget or make plans for the future.
To help establish a financial foundation that we can count on and grow on, we are asking people to join our community and become a Friend of Catmandu. For as little as $25/year, you can become part of the Catmandu community and know that you are helping to make a difference for the cats and kittens in northern Nevada.
Our philosophy has always been that if everyone does just a little, it will add up to a lot.
