A Companion for Life
The Senior-to-Senior Foster Program connects cats (age 10+) with senior citizens (age 55+).
Cats are Great for Seniors
Cats are generally low maintenance friends who provide critical companionship and other health benefits to their people.

Senior Cats Need Homes
Senior cats often have difficulty finding homes. These cats have lost their homes and human families due to death, illness or life changes. The majority are used to a very quiet home with few or no other animals. Most people are reluctant to adopt them because of their anticipated shorter lifespan or the possibility of health issues and unaffordable vet bills.
The Senior to Senior Foster Program removes many of these barriers and provides both senior and cat with the likelihood of years of love and companionship by providing the support they need.

How the Program Works
* Complete the Senior-to-Senior application which gives us information about you, your home, and what you are looking for in a cat.
* If we have or know of a senior cat that would be a good fit, we arrange a meet and greet.
* If you and the cat like each other, the cat goes home with you.
* If we don't have a good match at the moment, we will keep you in mind and contact you when we learn of a senior cat that might be a good fit.
* The cat lives with you as your cat, hopefully for the rest of it's life.
* We provide homeopathic care, vaccinations and discounted vet care as needed through the vet we work with. We also help with the cost, up to 100% if necessary.
* In certain cases, we can also provide assistance with food & litter.
* If something unforeseen happens and you're unable to care for the cat, the cat comes back to Catmandu.
* Please note that our goal is to have the cat remain with you for the rest of its life. Losing their person and home is very hard for a senior cat. We make every effort to ensure that the match is in the best interest of both the cat and person.
